As you may know, Pooks donated a small art piece of hers for the #twitterartexhibit ( _http://twitterartexhibit.org/ ) , but that's not all she's done lately.
Pooks also submitted a poem into the 6th Annual Poetry Contest by Poetry London, which is local in London, Ontario. Authors of the winning poems will be contacted in March.
She even submitted a photograph into a photography competition run by Life Framer. Entry deadline is December 31st, 2013. It takes place in London, as in London, England.
She's been getting all sorts of work out there into the world. Here's to hoping that 2014 will be just as productive. Coffee cheers!

Pooks has 2 art pieces available at The New School of Colour Art Show which is taking place at the East Village Art Collective.
View poster to the left for more details.
As of September 9th, Pooks has been a student at the University of Western Ontario. She is currently majoring in Sociology, with 2 minor courses which include Visual Arts Studio, and Visual Arts History: Art & Power.
She still attends the New School of Colour Monday evenings. There has been talk about the New School of Colour having an art show sometime in the near future. Possibly late November.
Besides that, she has been continuing to attend rallies, and protests that she supports. Most recently: Take Back the Night. An awareness event that seeks to end sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, sexual abuse and all other forms of sexual violence.
Pooks volunteers at The Arts Project as a floater/ usher, and has signed up through Western Serves to volunteer at L'Arche London for a day.
Creating her own personal art has come to somewhat of a halt due to her new schedule, but thanks to the New School of Colour, it gives her the space, the supplies, and the time to do so. The creating has not stopped entirely. More progress has been made on the "never-ending" oil painting.
This picture was in a black frame with dark red matting. Size is roughly estimated as 14IN. X 22IN.
Pooks painting projects are temporarily being put on hiatus as she is preparing herself for University. No worries, she still makes an attendance at the New School of Colour at the My Sisters Place location. That allows her to at least get some painting done in the mean time.
So no new art shows that she is taking part in, as of yet. Although her poem "The Spirit of Elizabeth King" was submitted, and is said to be in the next event of "Our Shining Stars" , possibly in October 2013.
"Our Shining Stars" is a theatre arts charity event. It is about celebrating those who have touched our lives, who have now passed on, from all causes of death.
When a public figure dies, the world mourns and celebrates their life. When most people die, it is only their close family and friends that know and care of their passing. So this event allows participants to share poems and stories about those they have lost, because all lives are special, and should be celebrated and treated like stars.
