Pooks painting "Eve's Forsaken" was sold tonight at The Arts Project, during the Framing the Phoenix opening reception. Another art piece sold within the first half an hour of the event. Big thanks to the person who purchased the painting, the Mental Health Promotions Committee of London, and The Arts Project.
Pooks painting has been submitted, accepted, and will be in the exhibition. Her painting titled "Eve's Forsaken" has been said to be an intriguing art piece.

Above is the painting that Pooks painted at the New School of Colour (My Sister's Place location), that got put into "A Sister Spring Art Exhibition" at The Framing and Art Centre. It has already been sold, but can still be viewed until April 26th,2013
Pooks is not only a member of the New School of Colour (Ark Aid Street Mission location), but she also participates at the New School of Colour (My Sister's Place location).
My Sister's Place is where she created her acrylic painting of orange flowers. She was given the challenge to try out a still life painting. It can be seen at this sites Art Gallery, or to see the real thing on canvas, check out the exhibition. Along with other works from many talented women who attend the New School of Colour, Wednesday mornings at My Sister's Place.
The Exhibition takes place at the Framing and Art Centre from April 23-26th. Opening reception is April 25th

Pooks has chosen the East Village Arts Collective. The exhibition will be at The Arts Project, May 7th - 11th. Pooks got accepted into Arts & Humanities at the University of Western Ontario as a part-time student. If all goes as planned, she will begin in the Fall 2013.
On April 21st, 2013 at 2pm, Pooks will be attending the Solidarity Slut Walk at Victoria Park. She will more than likely be taking pictures or videos as the event takes place. The Slut Walk is a march/ protest to end victim blaming and sex shaming for all bodies.

Pooks did complete a painting at the New School of Colour (My Sister's Place location). Her painting either will be in "A Sister Spring Art Exhibition", which is at the Framing and Art Centre, 188 Kent Street, April 23ird - April 26th. Opening reception will be on April 25th 5pm- 8pm. Or it could possibly be displayed in the upcoming event "Up With Art" which is held at the Palace Theatre on April 27th, 2013. More details when I know more...
Another painting was completed during the weekend at home, which will be submitted into the "Framing of the Phoenix", A Mental Health Art Exhibition. It goes from April 30th - May 4th, 2013. Opening reception is April 30th, 7-10pm at The Arts Project...
Pooks also submitted two photographs for an upcoming exhibition called "Caring Between the Lines". The submitted pictures will be printed as large high contrast black and white posters. At the exhibition, visitors will be allowed to colour in the images in with crayons. The show runs from May 7th - 11th, noon -5pm.
As for her muchly anticipated oil painting is still in progress at the New School of Colour (Ark Aid Street Mission location).
